HOW TO ADJUST MY LIGHTROOM PRESET?

You are super excited you have purchased your favourite Lightroom presets but after applying, it is not quite perfect as you want it to be. What should you do right?

Usually, presets gives your pictures a beautiful look in just one click but sometimes, presets may look slightly different on some pictures due to so many factors such as lightning conditions, camera settings, picture quality etc so you might have to make few adjustments with the tools to suit your desired look.

Here is a guide to help adjust your Lightroom preset like a pro.

HOW DO I MAKE A PICTURE BRIGHTER OR DARKER? 

Select “Light” click on the “Exposure” slider. Push the slider to the right to make your picture brighter. Push it to the left to make it darker.

HOW DO I MAKE A PICTURE COLORFUL OR LESS COLORFUL?

Select “Color” click on the “Saturation” slider. Push the slider to the right to make your picture more colorful . Push it to the left to make it less colorful

HOW DO I GET RID OF THE ORANGE COLOR IN MY PICTURE/HOW DO I MAKE MY SKIN NOT APPEAR ORANGE IN COLOR? 

Select “color” click on “Mix” then select the orange color, click on “saturation” and reduce the slider. Make sure not to overdo it so you do not have grey skin.

HOW DO I REDUCE INDIVIDUAL COLORS IN A PICTURE?

In a situation whereby you only want to adjust a particular color in your picture and not the overall color, select “color” click on “Mix” then select the particular color you would like to adjust and slide the saturation slider to the left or right to adjust the color.

HOW DO I SHARPEN MY PICTURE? 

Select “Detail” click on the “Sharpening” slider. Drag the slider to the right or the left to control the amount of sharpening applied to your picture.
